ToolboxHere for iPhone and iPad is made to be used with VoiceOver, larger text, dark mode and reduced motion. This page says what works, what we are still fixing, and how to tell us about a problem.
What works with VoiceOver
- Every button, tab and row has a spoken name. Tool tiles read their name and what the tool does.
- A tool's steps read in order: the first screen explains the tool, the next step is a button, and a result is read as its text.
- Scanned pages, photos and results are described: the scanner says when a page is found, and a result says what it contains.
- Pro screens read their price and plan in full; "Continue free" is always there.
- Arabic and Urdu read in their own language with the system's voices.
Text, colour and motion
- Every screen fits the largest accessibility text size without cutting words.
- Dark mode and Increase Contrast are followed on every screen.
- With Reduce Motion on, screens change without animation.
- Nothing is shown by colour alone: a warning or a "check" flag also has words and a symbol.
What we are still improving (version 1.0)
- Read aloud in Translate Anything uses the voices on your device, so a language without an iOS voice can't be read aloud yet.
- A few long results, such as a receipt's list of lines, read as one item; we are splitting them.
- Voice Control has not been tested yet.
