- Open the PDF form: its own boxes are highlighted. For a paper form, photograph or scan it with your phone or webcam, or add photos of it, and its blank lines and boxes are marked.
- Click or tap a box and type. Tick boxes and choices take one tap, and date boxes have a Today button. On a phone you can also fill in everything as a simple list.
- Add text, ticks, crosses or the date anywhere on the page, and sign by drawing, typing your name or photographing your signature.
- Save the PDF with the answers locked in, or keep the boxes fillable. Any required box you missed is pointed out first.
Why use Fill PDF Form
Fills real PDF forms
Text boxes, tick boxes, choices, lists and date boxes are filled in the form itself, so the answers land in the right place and the form's own limits, such as the number of characters, are kept.
Paper forms too
Photograph or scan a paper form: the page is straightened and cleaned, and its blank lines, boxes, tick squares and labels with nothing after them ("Name:") are marked, ready to type into.
Sign it
Draw your signature with a finger, mouse or trackpad, type your name in a signature style (Arabic and Urdu included), or photograph the one you signed on paper.
Private, no app
Works in the browser on iPhone, Android and computers. The form is filled on your device: nothing is uploaded, and no account is needed.
About this tool
Job and visa applications, school consent forms and bank forms often arrive as PDFs. Many are fillable PDFs, with boxes built into the file: this PDF filler finds them and highlights them, so you can type on the PDF exactly where each answer belongs, tick its boxes and choose from its lists. On a computer you type straight onto the page and move from box to box with Tab. On a phone each box opens a large input at the bottom of the screen, or you can fill in the whole form as a simple list. Other PDFs have no boxes built in, so the tool looks for the blank lines, boxes and tick squares on each page and marks them, and you can write on the PDF anywhere with a tap.
To fill in a paper form with your phone, scan it with the camera or add a photo: the page is found, straightened and cleaned like a scan. On a computer, scan the QR code with your phone and photograph the form there, and each page appears on the computer, ready to fill. When you are done, lock the answers in (best for sending, because the PDF then looks the same in every app) or keep the boxes fillable so the answers can still be changed. The form is filled out online in your browser, free and with nothing to install, and nothing is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
How do I fill out a PDF form online?
Open the PDF here. Its boxes are highlighted: click or tap one and type, tick the boxes you need and choose from the lists. Add your signature and the date, then choose Save PDF. There is no account, limit or watermark.
Can I fill in a PDF that has no fillable boxes?
Yes. When a PDF has no boxes built in, the places to fill on each page are marked so you can type straight onto them: blank lines, boxes and tick squares, labels with nothing after them such as "Email:", dotted lines, date patterns such as DD / MM / YYYY and tick boxes typed as ☐. Lines that only divide the page are left alone. You can also add text, ticks, crosses and the date anywhere on the page.
What if a box is marked where nothing should go?
Tap the × on its corner, or on a phone tap the box and choose Nothing goes here. The box goes away and nothing is written there when you save. Undo brings it back.
How do I fill in a paper form with my phone?
Tap Scan a form and photograph each page, or tap Use a photo. The page is straightened and its blanks are marked, ready to fill in. On a computer, scan the QR code with your phone instead: each page you photograph appears on the computer.
Should I lock the answers in or keep the form fillable?
Lock them in when you send the form: the answers become part of the page, so it looks the same in every app. Keep the boxes fillable if you or someone else needs to change the answers later. Signatures are always locked in.
Can I type my answers in Arabic or Urdu?
Yes. Arabic, Urdu and other scripts are joined and shaped by your browser, then placed in the box, so they show correctly in PDF readers.
Does it work with password-protected PDFs?
Yes. Type the password when asked: it is only used on your device, to open the file. The filled-in copy you save has no password.
Is my form uploaded?
No. The PDF is opened, filled in and saved in your browser, and nothing is kept after you close the page. If you link your phone to your computer, the photos go from one of your devices to the other: directly, or encrypted through our pairing service, which cannot read them.
Can I fill a PDF in Chrome or on a Mac?
Yes. Open this page in Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox on a Mac, a Windows PC, an iPhone or an Android phone, fill in the form and download the finished PDF.
