How to use Passport Photo Maker
- Choose the document, for example a US visa, a UK passport or the NEET form. The tool starts with a common one for your country.
- Add a photo taken facing the camera in front of a plain, light wall, or take one on your phone.
- Drag and zoom until the top of your head and your chin sit on the dashed lines. The checks show the size, the file size and the background.
- Download the photo for an online form, or a print sheet with several copies on 4 × 6 in, A4 or Letter paper.
Why use Passport Photo Maker
Official sizes
22 photo, signature, thumb and declaration sizes with their pixels, print size, KB limit and head height, each linked to the office that publishes it.
Guides on your photo
Dashed lines for the top of the head and the chin, and a band for the eyes when the rules set one, so the framing is right first time.
Inside the KB limit
Each JPG is saved inside the form's file-size range, such as 20–50 KB for SBI or under 240 KB for a US visa.
Signatures and thumbs
Photographed signatures, thumb impressions and handwritten declarations are cleaned up for exam forms: white paper, darker ink.
About this tool
Every passport office, embassy and exam board sets its own photo rules: the size in millimetres or pixels, how tall your head must be, the background, and often a file-size limit in KB. An online form rejects a photo that misses any of them, sometimes without saying why. This passport photo maker keeps the rules for common documents in one place, with a link to each official source, and applies them while you crop.
Passport and visa offices do not accept edited photos, so the tool only crops and resizes. It never smooths skin, changes the background or retouches your face. Instead it checks the background and asks you to retake the photo if it looks too dark or busy. If a job or school form just wants a passport size photo on a white or blue background, use the Passport Size Photo tool, which can replace the background.
Frequently asked questions
Which documents can I make photos for?
US visas, US passports and the DV lottery, UK passports, Schengen visas, Canadian visitor visas, Chinese visas, the Saudi eVisa, Qatar's Hayya visa, Indian passports and e-Visas, and Indian exam forms: NEET, JEE Main, CUET, SBI, IBPS, GATE, SSC and RRB.
Will my photo be accepted?
The tool makes the size, framing and file size match the published rules, but the office makes the decision. A good photo also needs even light, a neutral expression, a plain background and no glasses where the rules forbid them.
Can the tool change my photo's background?
Not for passports and visas: their rules forbid edited photos, so the tool only crops and resizes. Take the photo in front of a plain white or light wall. Exam forms that allow it can have the background made white, and the Passport Size Photo tool makes white or blue backgrounds for other forms.
How do I print passport photos at home?
Download the print sheet, then print it at 100% (actual size) on photo paper. Turn off "Fit to page" in the print window, or the photos come out smaller than the official size.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Cropping, resizing and saving all happen in your browser, and your photo never leaves your device.
Do I need a passport photo app?
No app is needed. This page works in your phone browser and sizes the photo to each country's requirements for size, head height and background.
