About this tool
Chinese embassies publish the photo requirements for the online visa application: 24-bit colour, at least 354 × 472 pixels and at most 420 × 560 pixels (width × height), JPEG, usually 40–120 KB, on a white or near-white background with no border. On a printed photo (33 mm wide, 48 mm high) your head measures 28–33 mm from the chin to the crown, with 3–5 mm above the head and at least 7 mm below the chin.
Look straight at the camera with a neutral expression, eyes open, lips closed and ears visible. Thick-framed, tinted or reflective glasses are not allowed, and head coverings only for religious reasons with your face fully visible. The photo must have been taken within the last 6 months.
