How to use ID Card to A4
- Photograph the front of your card with your phone or webcam, or add a photo you already have. The card is found and straightened: check its corners, then choose Use this card.
- Take or add the back the same way. On a computer, you can scan the QR code and photograph both sides with your phone instead. For a single-sided document, such as a passport page, add only the front.
- Choose the paper (A4 or Letter), the layout and how many copies to put on the page.
- Download the PDF or print it. Print at 100% (actual size) so the copy is exactly the size of the card.
Why use ID Card to A4
Real card size, up to four copies
Cards are placed at 85.6 × 54 mm, the ISO ID-1 size of ID cards, residence permits and licences, with up to four sets on one sheet.
Straightened for you
The card's edges are found in each photo and the card is flattened square on, even when taken at an angle. Drag a corner or crop by hand if you need to.
Phone, webcam or photos
Scan each side with your phone's camera or a webcam, add photos you already have, or scan the QR code on a computer and take both sides with your phone.
Stays on your device
Your ID is processed in your browser and never uploaded.
About this tool
Banks, employers, schools and government offices often ask for a copy of both sides of an ID card on a single sheet. A photocopier does it by copying one side, turning the card over and copying again. This tool does the same with your phone or webcam: photograph each side, or add photos you have, and it finds the card, straightens it, places both sides at their real size on an A4 or Letter page and gives you a PDF to print or email. On a computer, scan the QR code with your phone, and each side you photograph appears on the computer.
Most ID cards use the ID-1 size of 85.6 × 54 mm, including Pakistan's CNIC, Qatar's QID, the Emirates ID, Saudi ID and Iqama cards, India's PAN card and Aadhaar PVC card, and driving licences. Larger documents use ID-2 (105 × 74 mm) or ID-3 (125 × 88 mm, the size of a passport photo page). Print at 100% or "actual size": a printer set to "fit to page" shrinks the cards.
Frequently asked questions
Will the copy be the real size of my card?
Yes, if you print at 100% or "actual size". The cards are placed at 85.6 × 54 mm on the page. If your printer is set to "fit to page", the copy comes out smaller.
How do I get a good photo of my card?
Lay the card on a plain surface darker than the card, hold the phone straight above it and avoid glare from lights. The card is then found and straightened for you. If its edges aren't found, drag the four corners onto the card's corners.
Can I scan my ID card with my phone and print it from my computer?
Yes. Open this page on your computer and scan its QR code with your phone's camera, then photograph the front and the back on your phone. Each side appears on the computer straight away, ready to download or print. No app, cable or email is needed.
Can I put several copies on one page?
Yes. Choose 2, 3 or 4 sets to print the front and back several times on one page, then cut them out along the marks.
Is it safe to use for my ID card?
Your photos are processed in your browser and are never uploaded or stored. Close the page and they are gone. If you link your phone to your computer, the photos go from one of your devices to the other: directly, or encrypted through our pairing service, which cannot read them.
Can I use it for a passport page?
Yes. Choose the ID-3 size (125 × 88 mm) and add only the front.
