About this tool

Times in Madinah use the Umm al-Qura method of Saudi Arabia, which the Prophet's Mosque follows: Fajr when the sun is 18.5° below the horizon, Isha 90 minutes after Maghrib (2 hours during Ramadan), and the standard Asr. The times are for the centre of Madinah around the Haram; Quba, Uhud and the outer districts are within a minute. Madinah lies 338 km north of Makkah, so its Fajr comes a little later and its Maghrib a little earlier in winter than Makkah's, and the other way round in summer.

Over the year, Fajr in Madinah moves from about 4:01 AM in early June to about 5:46 AM in mid-January, and Maghrib from about 5:33 PM in late November to about 7:15 PM in late June. Ramadan 1448 is expected to begin on 8 February 2027; on the first day, suhoor ends at about 5:41 AM and iftar is at about 6:12 PM. The Qibla from Madinah is 176.2° from true north, almost exactly south, which is why the Prophet's Mosque faces south.
